Custom Forms templates

Should you run events where the same set of data is required from your patrons, using Custom Form templates can save you time and ensure that your data sets are consistent.

Creating a Custom Form template

You will have two options for creating a Custom Form template:

Convert an existing Custom Form into a Template

You've set up your event and added in the fields for your Custom Forms. You're running as second event and wish to collect the same set of date from your customers. Within your original event that has the Custom Form setup, you will have the option to convert the form into a template.

To convert and existing Custom Form into a template:

  1. From your account Dashboard, under the Manage Event Overview, click on the name of the event that has the Custom Form you wish to convert to a template

  2. From the left menu, under Additional Information, select Custom form (data collection)

  3. Click Save as Template

  4. Enter a Name for the template

  5. Click Save Template

With the template saved, it will now be listed under Custom Form (Data Collection) Templates, located under Templates on your account Dashboard menu.

Creating a Template from scratch

To create a new Custom Form template:

  1. From your account Dashboard, from the left menu, click Templates then click Custom Forms (Data collection) templates

  2. Click Create a Template

  3. In the field Template Name, enter a name for the template

  4. Click Add a Custom Question

  5. Complete all the fields

  6. Click Save or Save and Add Another

  7. Repeat for each field you want to collect

  8. Click Save

Uploading a Custom Forms template into an event

With your template created you will be able to upload it into an event that has been created.

Importing a template will not affect any existing fields already residing within the event, even if they share the same field name.

To upload a Custom Forms template into an event:

  1. From your account Dashboard, under the Manage Event Overview, click on the name of the event you wish to add the template to

  2. From the left menu, under Additional Information, select Custom form (data collection)

  3. Click Import a Template

  4. Select your template from the drop-down menu

  5. Click Import Template

With your template uploaded, you will have the ability to add additional fields that are unique to the event, remove fields to do not apply to that event, and reorder the fields that were imported.


Editing a Custom Form template

To edit a Custom Form template:

  1. From your account Dashboard, from the left menu, click Templates then click Custom Forms (Data collection) templates

  2. Next to the template that you wish to edit, click Edit

  3. Once you have made your changes, click Save

By uploading the template, you are creating a copy within the event. Any changes made directly to the template after it has been uploaded, will not be reflected within the event.
