With COVID still impacting the event industry in 2021, moving in-person events to an online format is becoming a popular choice for many users. To assist, we have made some upgrades to our Online Event feature to provide you with more functionality and flexibility. These changes include:
Providing customers with the Online Meeting ID and Password
Along the with the Online Meeting Link, you will now be able to add the Meeting ID and Meeting Password for attending the online event.
These are optional fields that allow you to provide these details to your customer within the confirmation email, issued upon completion of booking.
Online Meeting Details per Session Time
Online meeting link details are now set up within the Session Time on your event, instead of the Venue area. This allows you to provide unique online meeting details for each session time within the event.
If you host an online event that offers multiple sessions to attend, this allows you to set it up all sessions within the one TryBooking event and provide separate online meeting details to your customers at the time of booking.
You will be able to confirm which sessions have the online meeting link details added via the Link column in the Session Times screen.
For more details on adding or editing your online meeting link details please see: Creating an Online event
New Tags for email communication
To allow you to utilise the Follow Up Email and Email Buyers feature to communicate to your customers, confirming the online meeting details, we have added the new Tags to these areas:
- [ONLINE_EVENT_LINK] for the Online meeting link
- [MEETING_ID] for the Meeting ID
- [MEETING_PASSWORD] for the meeting password
As you have the ability to set different online meeting details per Session Time on the event, this ensures the correct online meeting link and details are provided for the session time they have booked to when utilising these email communication features.
For further information on how what tags are available and how they work, please see: Using tags in text editors
