The Event Listing URL provides another option for connecting your TryBooking events directly to your website. Much like the Event Listing Page and Widget, it operates dynamically, updating as events take place and new events are created.
This URL differs to the other event listing options as it comes in a variety of different formats (HTML, JSON, XML), giving you complete flexibility over the look and possibility to integrate or custom the data feed to suit your needs. You may need assistance from your developer in making these customisations.
This article covers:
If you are looking to have an event listing without needing to program it for your website, consider the widgets or event listing page.
Locating the Event Listing URLs
To access the Event Listing URLs:
- From the left menu, click Dashboard
- From the left menu, click Marketing tools then Event listing URL
These can be customised to look as part of your website and dropped straight into your page with its own formatting, or you can customise it using one of the APIs.
Linking multiple accounts into the one listing
When you have multiple TryBooking accounts, you can use the group tag on your event listing URL to bring together in one location the various events across your whole organisation.
When the Event Listing URL with the group tag is used, all TryBooking accounts that have the same Tag Name entered will have their Future Events populated into the listing.
To set the Tag Name on your account:
- From the left menu, click Dashboard
- From the left menu, click Marketing tools then Event listing URL
- Click on the tab Group Tag
- Enter in the Tag Name of your choosing
- Click Save
- Repeat in the TryBooking accounts that you wish to populate into your event listing, using the exact same Tag Name across all accounts
It is recommended that you use your website domain for the Tag Name. This will reduce the likelihood of another account using the same tag name unintentionally, avoiding non-relevant events being populated into your event listing.
With your Tag Name set, to link the listing to your website:
- Select the Group Tag Listing URL in the format of your choice listed on the Group Tag tab
- Replace the text [TAG_NAME] at the end of the URL with your Tag Name entered above
Eg. https://www.trybooking.com/Event/EventListingURL.aspx?tag=YOURCOMPANY - Place this URL into the source code of your website
