Sections

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Every event has at least one section. The section holds the event's Allocation Type (Seat or Space) and the overall capacity.

Sections can be used to create separate categories within your event that hold their own capacity. This could be for setting up areas in the venue such as tables, rooms and levels. You can also use Sections to create selection points within the event with different prices attached.

Creating a section

When going through Create an Event, the event's section will be created by default when entering your venue details. This section is named Section 1 by default. You can edit the name to one of your choosing should you wish.

To create a new section:

  1. From the left menu, click Dashboard

  2. Under Manage events overview, click the name of your event

  3. From the left menu, click Sections under Allocation

  4. Click Add New Section, then click Next

  5. Complete the fields:

    • Section Name: Name of the area or category that you are adding. Will display to the customer at the time of booking and on their ticket issued

    • Description (optional): allows you to provide a brief description of the section. Can assist the customer in their selection during booking

    • Copy Settings From (optional): choose to copy the settings of another section already established within the event. If you have selected to copy settings from another section, you will skip step 6 and proceed to step 7

  6. Click Next, and confirm the Allocation Type by selecting either Space (General Admission) or Seat (allocated seating)

    • If Space selected: enter in the capacity for the section in the Number of Attendees field

    • If Seat selected: indicate the number of rows in the venue and seats within each row
Further customisation to your seating plan can be made once the Section has been created. See Creating seating plans for further details.

  7. Click Create section, then click Finish
