If you receive the error when applying the code at checkout, please make sure you have set up the promotion code in the same pricing group as your ticket type/s entered, and the Start and End dates cover today.
Assigning promotion codes to ticket types
Promotional codes can be set up so that they only apply to specific ticket types. This can be useful if you are already offering discounted rates, like group tickets, and don't want to discount them anymore.
by default, a promotional code will be applied to all ticket types in that pricing group.
To assign a promotional code to a ticket type:
From the left menu, click Dashboard
Under Manage events overview, click your event name
From the left menu, click Pricing group (ticket prices) under Ticketing
Click on the name of your pricing group
Scroll down to Promotions (Discounts)
Click on the name of your promotional code
Click on the tab Discount Code Setting
Move the ticket types to either the left, which will apply the code to those ticket types, or the right, which won't
Click Save
If your promotion only applies to one session time, consider setting up an additional pricing group that contains your ticket types once more and the promotion code for the specific session and link through the Pricing Schema.
