Refunding a donation

You have the option to refund a donation in full or refund part of a donation. As the fundraiser, it's important to process all refunds via TryBooking so that there is a clear audit trail on the payment and the refunds being issued.

Only users with 'Account Holder' access can issue refunds.

Refund a donation in full

To refund a donation in full:

  1. From the left menu, click Dashboard then under Fundraising click Refund a donation

  2. To find the donation you wish to refund, you can enter in information in the filters at the top of the page and click Search

  3. Tick the box to the left of the donation/s you wish to refund

  4. Enter the reason for refunding at the bottom of the page. The reason entered will be included in the refund confirmation email sent to the donor/s

  5. Click Refund

  6. Click Confirm in the Confirm refund pop-up box to complete the refund

  • It can take 5-10 business days for funds to appear back in the donor's account

  • Once you have pressed Confirm you will not be able to cancel or reverse the refund


Partial refund on donations

You have the option of providing a partial refund on a donation value, should you not wish to refund the full value of the donation initially made.

To provide a partial refund on a donation:

  1. From the left menu, click Dashboard then under Fundraising click Refund a donation

  2. To find the donation you wish to refund, you can enter in information in the filters at the top of the page and click Search

  3. Tick the box to the left of the donation you wish to apply the partial refund to

  4. Under Amount to be Refunded in the far right of the table, edit the value to be the amount you wish to refund.

  5. Enter the reason for refunding at the bottom of the page. The reason entered will be included in the refund confirmation email sent to the donor

  6. Click Refund

  7. Click Confirm in the Confirm refund pop-up box to complete the refund

Refunded donations on Fundraising reports

Reports will automatically update to reflect any refunds processed on donations.
